As you wait for the permanent restoration, the anesthesia may begin to fade, and you might feel some sensitivity in the tooth. Taking Tylenol or Advil can alleviate any discomfort you experience.

Gums can be sore or tender. Warm and gentle salt water swishes (up to 3x a day) can help accelerate healing and soothe them.

If you have a temporary restoration, please refrain from chewing sticky or crunchy foods. When Flossing, pull the floss "through" to avoid pulling the temporary off.

In the case of multiple temporaries that are connected as a single unit, you will be unable to floss between the teeth. We recommend using a Waterpik to help maintain tissue health during this period.

If your temporary crown comes off, please inform us and keep the crown so we can reattach it.

Please avoid chewing for 30 minutes after placement of the restoration (s), unless directed otherwise.

Following the placement of the permanent restoration, you may experience some soreness while chewing and sensitivity to cold for the initial few days. If these symptoms continue beyond two weeks without any signs of improvement, a follow-up appointment may be necessary.
