Dr. Carolyn Kittell is a cosmetic and restorative dentist in Greenwood Village known for blending advanced technology with an artistic eye. Her work is rooted in the belief that great dentistry should enhance your natural beauty—conservatively, comfortably, and with long-lasting results. As the founder of Smile Essentials, Dr. Kittell has built a practice that reflects her core values: precision, compassion, and personalized care.
Education & Background
A native of Laguna Beach, California, Dr. Kittell attended the University of Oklahoma on a full athletic scholarship for volleyball. There, she earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.
After five years practicing as a dental hygienist, her passion for clinical excellence and patient connection led her to pursue a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), also at the University of Oklahoma.

At Smile Essentials, Dr. Kittell leads a fully digital, in-house workflow—from the initial scan to final restoration. She works directly with her on-site dental lab to craft custom veneers, crowns, and smile designs tailored to each patient’s features. This high-touch process allows her to maintain full control over the aesthetics, function, and fit—resulting in elevated outcomes without outsourcing.

A lifelong learner and national educator, Dr. Kittell frequently presents on cosmetic and digital dentistry techniques. She is an active member of the Spear Education Faculty Club and holds memberships with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Metro Denver Dental Society.
Her peers consistently recognize her excellence—she has been named a 5280 Top Dentist year after year.
On the Personal side...
Dr. Kittell enjoys spending time with her Husband, Andy, along with her dogs birdie and Louie. Carolyn and Andy enjoy traveling internationally, the outdoors, good food,
and learning about art and culture. Andy is a professional photographer and they enjoy seeing life through the lens, together.
